And they haven’t had the decency to leave a note. More fool them. I’ve reversed this trailer through a wall before with no damage :)
Still, it’s a shame the lamp lenses are so expensive at £18 a unit :(

18 pounds per? What are they, hand-carved artificial ruby and topaz?

I have to say; There’s a reason for that. It is by far the best trailer I’ve ever owned, both in terms of build quality and stability.

How big is this trailer?

Sort of. It’s a twin filament and while the brake light works fine, the sidelight seems to be intermittent now.

I feel like they probably lost that encounter so at least you have that. People do suck however.

Big by UK standards. 20ft from nose to tail, 16ft bed. Don’t you be going all ‘Murica on me here now, ya hear? I know your trucks pull bigger.

Nope, just a big ass-Land Rover attached to it.

Yes, I have. Most such trailer parts in the US are built along generic lines, and such a lens, replacement gasket, and so on would probably be something like $8 or so. $23.50 would even for a whole replacement fixture be somewhere between very dear and highway robbery.

That’s still a good sized trailer. How do you not notice that?

It’s weird actually. When towing this thing (it sits outside the Land Rover track width by about half a foot each side) you would think people would get out of your way, but I swear to god they actively aim for you instead.

I’m sure they noticed. However, they obviously didn’t bother to get out and check.

Well, you should tell 4muddyfeet of your supplier!

Couple of quid for the bulb, if it’s the bulb. More likely the housing but I’ll check it out later. Not too much of a worry :)

But I will get all ‘Murica on you and tell you to just cover it up with some red tape because the bulb still works.

I believe I’ve seen lenses much like his at a local supplier which includes odder sizes, but nothing cropped up that readily on the web, more’s the pity. Were it not for differing regulations with the US DOT, this is something closer to what we’d expect for that amount of money:
https://www.nueratrailerparts.com/waterproof-tai…
The most common fixture for the sort of setup he has over here would be either recessed...
or surface mount...
With the ones I’ve shown being roughly the most common types for simple trailers - US DOT allowing the turn signal to be behind a red lens simplifies matters greatly, though there are some variations with amber. A lens for either of these, as broadly standardized as they are, can be found in any auto parts store for <$8 or so, even with their markup.

That’s probably not a bad shout. It has a really good multi pin junction box which allows loads of extraneous electrics to be added. Would be a cinch to wire up.

Just out of curiosity I asked Mr Google who came up with:
https://www.trailerstuff.ie/p/1250:c:111/r…
They’d probably be cheaper in the UK. You just have to choose your supplier carefully

Doesn’t surprise me. All down to Ifor Williams choosing a slightly odd size and charging their own price on them.

$8 for a replacement lens in the US, because everyone uses off the shelf bits.
Since this is likely proprietary, well, yeah it’s going to be more expensive.
